This policy explains what information AccountantHelpMe collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to connect you with help and to keep the site running.

Get connected form. When you ask us to connect you with help, we collect your name, email, phone (if you provide it), business name, state, the month your LLC was approved (if you provide it), industry (if you provide it), the types of help you selected, your timeline, any notes you add, and your consent to share your request with providers. We also store the exact consent text you agreed to, the time you agreed, and the page you submitted from.

Contact form. When you send us a message, we collect your name, email, the topic you chose, and your message.

Playbook email signups. When you sign up for deadline reminders, save your progress, or ask for a printable checklist, we collect your email and, if you provide them, your first name and state. We also store which signup you used, the consent text you agreed to, and the time you agreed.

New Business Checklist email requests. When you ask us to email you the New Business Checklist, we collect your first name (if you provide it) and your email address, along with the consent text you agreed to, the time you agreed, and the page you requested it from. We use your email address to send the checklist and occasional related emails. We store these email addresses ourselves, we do not sell them, and you can ask us to remove your address at any time or unsubscribe with the one-click link in any email. We send these emails through the PocketBase mail relay, the platform's built-in email service.

Playbook progress saved in your browser. The checkmarks you make on the playbook and its step pages are saved in your own browser using local storage. They never leave your device unless you sign up to save your progress, in which case only the list of checked steps is sent so we can email you a restore link.

Business funding requests. When you ask us to review business funding options, we collect your identity (first and last name), contact details (email and phone), home address (street, city, state and ZIP), date of birth, the funding types you requested, the amount range you selected, and your separate consents to share your information with our funding partner and to be contacted about your request. We also store the time you agreed, the page you submitted from, and basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type. See the Business funding requests section below for how this is used and shared.

Technical information. We also collect basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, to keep the site secure and working.

Query chat assistant. When you type a question into Query, the website assistant, your question is sent to an AI service to generate an answer. We do not store your questions or the answers. Query answers only from this website and will not ask you to share personal or financial details.

We use the information you provide to:

• Review your request and introduce you to the right providers.
• Reply to messages and questions you send us.
• Email you deadline reminders, a progress restore link, or a printable checklist when you ask for them.
• Improve the playbook and the matching tool.

When you submit a Get connected request, we share the details you provide only with the providers that match the types of help you selected. We share your request with one provider for each type of help you picked, so they can contact you about that request. We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not sell your information.

We do not share contact form messages or playbook email signups with providers. Those are used only to reply to you and to send you what you asked for.

When you submit a business funding request, the information you provide is shared with StartCap, our funding partner. StartCap is the recipient of your identity, contact details, home address, date of birth, requested funding types and amount range.

The purpose of sharing this information is to review your funding options across term loans, lines of credit and 0% introductory credit programs. Your information is used by StartCap to confirm your identity, check your credit, and compare lenders and programs that fit your file. No automated approval or denial happens on this site. A StartCap funding specialist reviews every request.

We keep your funding request record for as long as needed to provide the service and meet our legal obligations, and we delete it when you ask us to, except where we are required to keep it for legal reasons. To request deletion of your funding request, email us at [EMAIL] or use the contact form and include your reference number. We will remove your record from our system. To request deletion from StartCap's records, contact StartCap directly.

For details on how StartCap handles your information, see StartCap's privacy policy. AccountantHelpMe may be paid by StartCap when a business we refer is funded. This does not change what you pay.

We may receive a referral fee from a provider when we introduce you to them. This does not change what you pay for their services, and it does not cost you anything. We tell you this so you know about the relationship. You are never required to use a provider we introduce.

Every email we send about the playbook includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also reply to any email from us and ask to stop receiving them, or use the contact form. We will honor your request right away.

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information you gave us at any time. To make that request, email us at [EMAIL] or use the contact form. We will remove your request, message, or signup from our records, except where we are required to keep it for legal reasons.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information using secure storage and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

We keep your request, message, and signup records for as long as needed to provide our service and meet our legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, as described above.

You can:

• Ask to see or delete the information you gave us.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Unsubscribe from playbook emails at any time.
• Clear playbook progress from your browser at any time using your browser settings.

AccountantHelpMe is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

AccountantHelpMe is an independent matching and information service. We are not a law firm, accounting firm, or financial advisor, and we do not hold any professional certifications. The playbook and tools are general information, not legal, tax, or financial advice.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the last update is shown below. We encourage you to review it periodically.
